The business process modeling is often omitted by the use case writer, can anyone define the relationship between these two? Thanks.

Business Process Model used to handle only high level business processes without paying enough attention to necessary linkage to the actual system. In that regard, well written Use case can be directly related the system or software design level. However, recent BPMN became detailed and open standards so that it can be easily linked to the system (SW) design. Both are complementary. Important thing about Use Case is that its approach is not object-oriented at all, which sometimes confuses people who do proces modeling and use case simultaneouly - which is good!. Probably, doing a introductory workshop on finding business objects before Use Case will improve the general progress with use case analysis and final system development. I hope this will help you.
