The main reason to join this group is that i m going to join a project on BPM in the co. where i m working now. I will be responsible for knowing the BP of the client co. And according to that BP we will modify our own CRM software and deliver it to the client...so, my role is quite imp and i m new to this BPM field, so i hope i will get useful tips and help at the time i need it...

Many thanks, in advance for any future help...

Regards,

Maulik B.

I am a project manager with Navy Federal Credit Union. My focus is process improvement and BPM is a "concept" I have been trying to grasp for the last couple of years. Therefore, I am hoping to learn more of what BPM has to offer.

Hello Lester,

Just fire away at this forum and we will help answer any questions you have on BPM.

I would urge you to consider the benefits that BPM with SOA would bring to your company. SOA abstracts your technology assets and other assets(people, information, applications etc) as a set of "well defined" interfaces that can remain stable for as log as the business requires - while protecting them from lower level technology changes. All the hard work of interfacing to the resources is done. So constructing business process from this set of well defined, reusuable services means faster implementation of the process solution.

Great to hear you are focussed on process improvement. You will need business monitoring tools to create the visibility of what is happening in side your business once your processe are deployed. Tools to simulate your business environment before you deploy your processes will help reduce the risk before deploying into production.

Good luck

Generally I've seen BPM specifically refer to the workflow diagram using BPMN. Does BPM also include the goal, kpi's, policies and procedures and role assignments? Thanks in advance for any insights on the topic.
